About the Team

We work to foster community engagement to study, restore and promote the mountain park preserves of metro Phoenix. We are a partnership of land managers, scientists, educators, community members and conservation-based nonprofit organizations committed to the ecological and recreational sustainability of the mountain parks and preserve system in the Phoenix metropolitan area. We work to foster community engagement to study, restore and promote the mountain park preserves of metro Phoenix.

The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department builds healthy communities through parks, programs and partnerships; and makes the city a better place to live, visit and play. The City of Phoenix is working to enhance and restore their parks and preserves through collaborative initiatives.

The Garden’s commitment to the community is to advance excellence in education, research, exhibition and conservation of desert plants of the world with emphasis on the Sonoran Desert. We will ensure that the Garden is always a compelling attraction that brings to life the many wonders of the desert.

The Garden is the backbone and convening organization for CAZCA and a partner in several of the Alliance’s projects. The Garden is providing support through the project and acting as a supporting partner in the communication and facilitation of the training and other events for the #BuffelgrassBlues campaign.

We appreciate the generous support of Intel Corporation for this project and their help in the mapping efforts of buffelgrass and other invasive plants at Piestewa Peak.
